TT-01-8041220006 Thrane Iridium H4122 SSAS Box, Anti-Piracy Ship Security Alert System
The solution is designed to be cost-effective, easy to install, user-friendly and reliable.
The SAILOR Iridium SSAS box is dedicated to the alert system, but the SAILOR SC4000 Iridium terminal can also be used for standard Iridium features, such as voice and data communication.
When one of the alert buttons is activated, an alert is generated and transmitted through the SAILOR SC4000 Iridium system.
The alert includes the identification of the vessel and its position.
The alert is delivered through the Iridium satellite system and directed to the recipient from the Iridium Gateway as an e-mail or ordinary SMS to pre-defined recipients, according to the vessel’s ISPS code.
One typical recipient is the Research and Rescue Centre in the vessel’s country of registration.
The alert is transmitted continuously at a pre-defined interval until deactivated.

IMPORTANT!
The power supply for the Iridium transceiver and the Iridium SSAS Box must have a backup power in case of power failure on the ship’s AC supply.
This is a requirement specified by the IMO resolution MSC.147(77) section 3.1.

The Basis of your SSAS Solution
The SOLAS Resolution XI-2/6 requires vessels of 500 GT to carry a Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) on board.
The SAILOR SC4000 Iridium can easily be combined with a SSAS kit complying with all requirements and approved by the major classification societies.
The SSAS add-on solution is simple to install, and consists of a SSAS connection box, 2 alert buttons and one test button.
It is thus an obvious choice if you are required to fit an SSAS and need the voice communication as well.
