Product Description
AV-01-SB1-IOTA Addvalue Wideye Sabreâ„¢ M2M Application Enabler
This device is most suited for unmanned operations in a remote, hard-to-access or hazardous location.
It serves two purposes of firstly controlling the BGAN terminal and secondly to interface with the client’s sensor equipment.
The user can customize the software applications on the IOTAâ„¢ for command and control of their monitoring equipment and the SABRE I.
The whole setup can be remotely accessed from the user’s headquarter via the BGAN network for SCADA monitoring application.
FEATURES
The hardware platform is an embedded ARM-9 based microprocessor system.
The embedded system is operating on WinCE with proprietary software to control the functionality of SABRE I Interface
1. IOTA and SABRE I : Ethernet
2. IOTA & monitoring equipment : UART, RS232 or USB
3. User interface
The IOTA has a VGA port for the connection to a standard display monitor.
A USB host is ready for hub-connection with a USB keyboard and a USB mouse for user interface functions such as system configuration, diagnosis and firmware upgrade
4. API (Application Program Interface) for application software customization
Software routines can be independently developed by users for specific applications intended for telemetry and SCADA. Users can carry out system integration through the use of API supported in a development package.
The hardware platform is an embedded ARM-9 based microprocessor system.
Overview
AV-01-SB1-IOTA
IOTAâ„¢, is an intelligent, programmable Machine to Machine (M2M) application enabler, is developed for use with its SABRE 1â„¢ BGAN Terminal.
The SABRE 1 BGAN Terminal in conjunction with the IOTA programmable accessory form an equipment suite uniquely suitable for SCADA applications.
This suite of equipment can support unmanned SCADA applications in remote, hard-to-access or hazardous locations.
The IOTA is specially designed to both control the Addvalue SABRE 1 BGAN Terminal and to interface with various types of SCADA equipment.
It supports programming in WinCE. Thus users can easily craft software applications to run on the IOTA tailored for command and control of their particular SCADA equipment and the SABRE 1 Terminal.
The entire equipment suite – SABRE 1, IOTA and the SCADA equipment itself – can then be remotely accessed from the user’s headquarter via the Inmarsat BGAN network.
Interfaces
1. IOTAâ„¢ and SABREâ„¢ Ranger terminal: Ethernet.
2. IOTAâ„¢ and monitoring equipment: RS232, USB or GPIO.
3. User interface
The IOTAâ„¢ has a VGA port for the connection to a standard display monitor.
A four port (host) USB hub is ready for a USB keyboard and a USB mouse for the technician to perform tasks such as system configuration, diagnosis and firmware upgrade.
